What is a Blood Borne Pathogen?

 

Bloodborne pathogens are viruses, bacteria, and other infectious agents that cause disease in humans and can be spread from human to human through exposure to infected blood. 

 

Life-Threatening Bloodborne Pathogens

 

 Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) are all common bloodborne pathogens that can cause life-threatening risks to anyone who comes in contact with infected blood. Syphilis, malaria & others are also considered as bloodborne pathogens.

 

Who Should Take the Bloodborne Pathogens Training?
